Edible Baby Shower Favors - Adding a Little Extra Sweetness to Your Celebration

Sweet treats, and edible party favors are always a good means to save some pocket dough for a host or hostess. Not only are they fairly inexpensive, but a batch of cookies tends to go a long way while putting together small packets of goodies that not only appease children, but adults alike.

One thing to seriously consider is baking simple sugar cookies. This is a fun, and very flavorful way to thank your guests. You can either make , or purchase simple sugar cookie dough, and use either pre-made or self-made cutters in the shapes of things such as: ducks, teddy bears, carriages, umbrellas, bottles etc. Remember, if you are throwing a goth, or punk theme party you may want to use a little more subdued colors (rather than the bright pastels). Another fun way to give the gift of cookies, is by simply pouring simple ingredients into small (pre-measured) zip-top bags, along with a recipe written on paper cohesive to the invitations. Don't forget, if you do this you may want to come up with a funny little quip about expecting a baby, however please take into consideration that there might be grandparents in attendance (so try to keep lewd comments at a minimum). These cookies are limited only by the imagination of those who are creating them.

Another good way to bring a little flavor into the cookie's already tasty life, is by creating personalized fortune cookies. Although these aren't your novice cookies, anyone who has at least a little bit of experience will have a Chinese restaurant quality cookie in no time. Remember, when making the personalized fortunes, the sky is still the limit, some ideas are:

*This child will be president one day.

* This will be you in a years time.

*You will fall in love with a bundle of joy.

* You will have a future rocker on your hands.

However not quite so in-expensive, you are now able to customize M&M's online. The packages run anywhere from ten, to twenty dollars depending on the quantity. If you are throwing a Gothic theme party, I would suggest selecting colors in the gray, black and white family along with your every-day pastel pinks or blues depending on if the parents know the gender. Some fun phrases that can be incorporated in the M&M's would be :

* Just arrived

* Baby blues

* Baby on board

* Pregnant

* Hands off

* Super woman

Show your baby's style by dressing them up in your favorite band's t-shirts & onesies. Whether it's The Ramones, Led Zeppelin or 311, there are punk rock baby clothes as well as funny baby clothes, toddler shirts, gothic maternity clothes and diaper bags available. Other kids clothing and gift items include: Toddler skate shoes, slogan baby clothes, rompers, baby bibs, beanies and baby shower favors.
