Supercharge Your Baby's Brain - One Thing ALL Parents Can Do

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 4:00 AM

By Tara N Smith

In 1920 a popular New York pediatrician reported a startling and heartbreaking problem: Institutionalized babies were dying. In fact, ALL institutionalized babies were dying. The death rate was 100% for children under 2. What was happening? They had shelter. They had food. Their diapers were changed. They were otherwise healthy. So what was the missing link? The missing link was touch. These babies received little to no touch and caring, and thus could not thrive. The surprising (or not so suprising) truth is that babies REQUIRE touch, love and cuddles to survive. Touch is the only sense a child cannot live without. Deaf children will survive, blind children will survive, but unless a child can touch and be touched, he will die.

Now I'm guessing our ancestors never worried about giving their children an adequate amount of touch. Babies were carried and held because that's how mammals do it. Evolution made it so. The safest place for babies was in the arms of a caretaker. In many traditional hunter-gatherer societies like those observed in The Continuum Concept, babies are held constantly in the first six months of life. In Bali, at the age of 3-6 months, families will perform a ground-touching ceremony to celebrate the first time a baby's feet touch the ground. Humans aren't the only species that need copious amounts of touch. In his famous studies in the sixties, Dr. Harry Harlow found that rhesus monkeys preferred softer, cloth covered dummy mothers to wire ones, and in times of distress preferred the cloth dummy if it offered no food, even if food was available with the wire dummy.

Science offers an explanation for this innate need for touch that mammals have. It has to do with the "drug store" in our brains. Certain chemicals in our brains, for example oxytocin and opioids, create a sense of calm and content, and the ability to handle stress well. But the only way to activate these chemicals in the human brain is through loving human touch! Research with other mammals indicated that the more physical contact infants had with their mothers the less fearful and the more confident they were. They were also more mentally healthy later in life and were calmer and more attentive with their babies, and coped well with the stress of unfamiliar environments. Dr. Henry Chapin, the famous pediatrician who made the observation about institutionalized children, also found that animals who did not receive enough touch tended to be frequently tense and exhibited impulsive, anxious, irritable and aggressive behavior.

Research consistently confirms how critical touch is to human development. Our skin and brain develop from the same embryonic tissue and some scientists even consider skin to be the "outer layer of the brain". In Colombia, the phenomenon of 'kangaroo care' (periods of skin-to-skin contact) was invented out of necessity to keep premature infants warm, but doctors noticed some other positive side effects: the death rate which had at once been 70% for premature infants, dropped dramatically. Doctors found that skin-to-skin contact regulated the babies' heart rates and breathing, and helped them to gain weight more easily. Additionally, researchers found that preemies who received kangaroo care had brain development patterns in 10 minutes that was equal to 4 weeks of development in preemies who received normal care. They found that skin-to-skin contact helped develop neural synapses and increased the amount of alpha waves (associated with contentment and bliss) in the brain.

When a infant is distressed, she does not have the ability to calm herself. If she is left alone her brain will release toxic stress hormones, like cortisol, the positive opioids are withdrawn, and she will become "hyper-aroused". This is not a good arousal. If infants experience frequent periods of uncomforted distress, their brains become wired to be in state of panic and anxiety. It takes the touch and comfort of a calm adult for her brain to release the chemicals that make her feel content again. In fact a growing body of research indicates the infants who experience long periods of crying alone, actually have different brain development patterns, and can develop a constant feeling of anxiety, even when safe. It isn't actually the crying that is the problem. It is uncomforted crying that can affect brain development. So if holding your baby doesn't produce immediate relief, don't worry. Know that your calm presence is having an effect on his brain, even if the immediate effects aren't obvious.

Science has given us the information we need to create optimal brain development for our children. Let's let go of antiquated notions that have been proven untrue. Babies don't manipulate in the conventional sense, they don't have the ability to! They aren't even capable of clear thought. Babies cry to be held because their brains require it. It is a system completely beyond their control. Loving touch from a parent or caregiver is necessary and beneficial for infant brain development. The more the better! Of course this doesn't mean you must hold your babies constantly. And it doesn't mean your life has to be drastically inconvenienced. Babywearing, the art of carrying a baby in a sling or pouch, is a fantastic way to provide the closeness that babies need. It's actually MUCH less physically taxing than carrying around a huge carseat carrier. Slings and wraps are becoming much more popular these days and are even available at chain stores like Target and Babies R Us.

Most of us are not able to hold our babies constantly. In traditional societies, babies are often cared for by multiple caregivers including children as young as 3 years old. So this is article isn't suggesting that mothers are required to be with their children 24/7. I'll be the first to admit that I've had to set my baby in her crib while she cried to let myself "cool off." In fact, if a parent is not calm, this is the best option, as a upset parent doesn't have the same calming effect. I'm simply suggesting that we recognize that physical touch is a need, not a want, particularly for the developing human brain. Babies and children's lives are filled with enough stresses naturally, without creating unnecessary stress trying to "train" them to be independent before they are ready. So when you've fed your baby and you've changed his diaper and all his needs seem to be met, yet he is still distressed, remember touch is just another need, like food or shelter, and sooner than you'll be ready, he won't be a baby anymore and won't need you as much. Infancy is one of the most precious, profound times of a child's life. I recommend soaking it up. How to Make a Diaper Baby Cake for a Baby Shower

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 4:00 AM

By Kristi Patrice Carter

Are you planning a shower for a friend or family member and dreading it? Baby showers are not like they used to be, and there are many trends that have improved and updated the traditional baby shower. Some of those trends are even funny and clever, including the new diaper baby cake.

A diaper cake is not a baked treat. It is a way to present a shower gift. Every mother can tell you that they change more diapers than they care to remember during the first year of their babys life. The simple fact is that diapers quickly become a way of life for new parents. A diaper cake is an excellent, creative way to gift new parents with the baby care essentials that they need and will use every day, if not every three hours.

It is very easy to find the ingredients for your diaper cake. You will need approximately sixty diapers and small rubber bands, ribbon, a plastic cake platter, one four ounce baby bottle, and one eight ounce baby bottle. You will also need some cake decorations to create the illusion of a cake. You may also want to purchase pacifiers, rattles, teething rings, onsies, lotions, and stuffed animals to make your diaper cake more exciting.

Assembly is quite easy. The first thing you will need to do is prepare the first layer. You will need to roll five or six diapers tightly. You will need to unfold each diaper and then roll each diaper individually. Secure each rolled diaper with a small rubber band, the tighter the better. Take five or six rolled diapers and secure them around an 8 ounce baby bottle or a large bottle of lotion. Put this in the center of your platter, and secure eighteen to twenty individually rolled diapers to this layer, and secure it with a large rubber band. Use ribbon to hide the unsightly rubber bands, and the base layer is complete. It should be three layers deep.

The remaining tiers of the diaper cake are constructed in exactly the same way. However, each layer is small than the last. The second layer will use the four ounce bottle or a smaller hygiene product in order to secure the layer. The second layer will be two layers deep, and the third layer will only consist of one layer of diapers.

The next step is to decorate your cake. You can use pre-made decorative sugar decorations to give your cake the bakery appearance. Do not use icing or frosting to decorate the diaper cake. Remember, the purpose of these diapers is to be used by a baby, so you will need to decorate accordingly. You can find several decoration ideas just by browsing the baby aisle of your local grocery store.

Making a diaper cake is a fun and unique way to present a new mother with the baby care essentials she will need. Have fun!

Changing Adult Diapers

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 4:00 AM

By Steve Valentino

Those who use adult diapers are usually individuals who battle with issues like bedwetting, incontinence, urinary problems, pregnant women who need to urinate often etc. Depending on the reason that a person uses a diaper, one must change it at different intervals. But long and frequent wearing of a wet diaper leads to skin rashes also known as diaper sores.

When a person is at home and is suffering form any illness, their diapers are usually changed by those who take care of them. For some handicapped and invalid people it is decided that diapers must be changed at fixed times by the caretaker like after naps, after meals, etc. others feel that diapers must be changed, not at specific timings, but simply whenever it is required to. This again, depends solely on the comfort and schedule of the user. A lot of people suffer from diaper rashes, which are sores that develop on their sensitive areas, which are in constant contact with the diaper. It is advisable for such people that they change diapers as soon as the diapers are soiled. In case of those using diapers because of bedwetting, they can change the diaper just before going to bed and then as soon as they get up in the morning. In case a person is caught in a situation where he/ she cannot change diapers as often, it is wise to use diapers that are more absorbent.

To avoid any kind of inconvenience caused by skin rashes and irritation caused by the odor of soiled diapers, many people opt to use baby oil on their buttocks and sensitive areas. They may also use some special cream, salve or balm to get relief from the irritation while they are changing their diapers. After changing diapers, they must be disposed carefully with the garbage if they are disposable.

Causes of Baby Diaper Rash and When to Seek Medical Advice

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:02 AM

By Connie Limon

Diaper rash usually looks like a patchwork of bright red skin on your babys bottom. Most babies develop a diaper rash sometime or another. Times diaper rash may appear most often are:

After solid foods are added to your babys diet

When your baby is taking antibiotics

 When diapers are changed infrequently

Diaper rashes are more common in babies during their first 15 months or anytime your baby wears diapers. Other factors that contribute to diaper rash may include:

 Diarrhea

Use of plastic pants to cover a diaper

The good news about most diaper rashes is most cases disappear after a few days with home treatment.

Signs and symptoms of diaper rash include:

Red, puffy and sometimes slightly warmer skin in the diaper region, buttocks, thighs and genitals

Baby may seem more uncomfortable than usual especially during diaper changes

Pain from a diaper rash often makes a baby fuss or cry when the diaper area is washed or touched

Causes for diaper rash

If a baby is forced to wear diapers soiled with urine or feces for long periods of time, he or she can experience irritation. A babys skin is usually quite sensitive, but even an adult who would wear an undergarment soiled with urine or feces for long periods of time would eventually experience irritation.

Sometimes when babies start to eat solid foods, the content of their stool changes and can increase the likelihood of diaper rash. Changes in babys diet can lead to increased frequency of stools, which can cause diaper rash. Breast-fed babies may develop diaper rash in response to something you have eaten.

New products such as a new brand of disposable wipes, diaper or detergent can irritate babys bottom. Even the type of detergent or fabric softener you use could be the cause.

Other substances that can add to the problem of diaper rash include ingredients found in:

 Baby lotions

 Baby powders

 Baby oils

The diaper rash can begin as a simple skin infection then spread to the surrounding regions within the creases of the skin turning into a bacterial or yeast infection.

Be careful about the fit of diapers and clothing. Tight fitting diapers and clothing which rubs against the skin can lead to diaper rash.

If your babys diaper rash does not improve within several days of home treatment and more frequent diaper changes, ask your health care provider for advice. If the diaper rash leads to a secondary infection it may require prescription medications. If diaper rash occurs with any of the following, have your child examined by a health care provider:

 Fever

 Blisters or boils

A rash that extends beyond the diaper area

 Pus or weeping discharge

Rashes that dont respond to home treatment

Tips For Curing An Infant's Yeast Infection

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:01 AM

By Emily Omay

Yeast infections not only attack men and women, but also children. In fact, infants generally develop thrush or yeast infection in the mouth, and seldom anywhere else in the body.

Parents usually consider this thrush to be some misconception in the development of the child. However this is far from the truth as it is very much possible for a child too to suffer from an overgrowth of Candida, as is an adult. This yeast infection can occur anywhere in the body, basically where there is a warm and wet environment.

A wet diaper is the perfect breeding place for a yeast infection

It is basically the diaper area that is most susceptible to yeast infections as this area is not only wet, but is also heated up with the heat of the body. So to help control this discomfort in the toddler, it is better to keep the baby as clean and as dry as possible with frequent changing of diapers. This is very important during the summer months when there is increased heat because of climatic conditions.

Of course, between male and female babies, it is the baby girl that is more susceptible to yeast e infections, as are women and girls. This is because females havmore folds in the body where Candida thrives in and of course because of the diapers.

Boys are susceptible to yeast infections only because of diapers. So basically, make it a point to change diapers as soon as possible for the longer the diaper rubs against the skin, the higher is the possibility of a y east infection.

Besides keeping the baby as clean and dry as possible to control Candida overgrowth, there are other steps that can be used for preventing and curing infant yeast infection. Another common reason that triggers a yeast infection is an antibiotic regimen.

Avoid unnecessary antibiotics to prevent yeast infections

This is because antibiotics basically kill the natural bacterial flora found in the body, which is responsible for containing Candida. So unnecessary antibiotics in the body only leads to unnecessary killing of this necessary flora.

Once the child suffers from thrush, there is the possibility of the infant yeast infection spreading to other areas like the genital area. This is because Candida tends to pass through the digestive tract, to accumulate at the excretion site.

Approach the doctor at the first signs of a yeast infection

Of course, in addition to all this, an untreated diaper rash leads to an overgrowth of Candida; so don't just sit there thinking that the diaper rash will disappear on its own. Make sure you visit the doctor, and treat the rash in such a way that it is not exacerbated by itching and burning of an infant yeast infection.

Once you recognize the tell tale signs of a yeast infection in the baby, seek advice from the child's physician as it is always better to control the condition in the start, than when it becomes worse.

A Day in a Life of a Baby

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:01 AM

By Terry Ross

Dont you wish you were a baby again? Unlike most babies and young children I have no desire to grow up, being a baby is just brilliant.

What a start to the day, no worries about getting tired at work as a baby I can wake up early safe in the knowledge that I can sleep whenever I like and scream the place down. Generally a screaming baby gets a brilliant reaction, attention from all directions with everyone happy to do anything if it will just shut me, the screaming baby, up.

Well that the lungs exercised and the belly full and for me, a baby boy the extra satisfaction of getting a good eyeful, excellent training for a few years time!

With breakfast over its time to play with baby toys. Dont you just love it when daddy gets really excited over baby toys? Of course he should have grown up long ago but whos to argue if he wants to make a complete ass of himself just for his adorable babys amusement.

Oops, dirty baby diaper, no worries mummy or daddy will fix it pretty quick. Wait for it, thats the diaper taken off so lets start the fountain, its good for a laugh. A baby always comes out on top adults have a lot to learn when it comes to changing baby diapers.

Oh well, morning fun over, just enough time for a quick nap before mid morning snack. On second thoughts lets go for the rocking baby to sleep approach, Im sure someone will oblige if I scream loud enough.

Looks like were off out somewhere, no worries Ill just sleep through the boring bits and Im bound to see something interesting. Baby strollers are brilliant, really comfortable with great designs for the fashion conscious baby.

Im not too keen on the car seat with wings, not really built with baby curiosity in mind. No worries Ill just cry a few times until they understand that I need a new one. A few extra dirty baby diapers and a couple of bouts of throwing up might help.

Baby socialisation is pretty good no one worries about throwing baby girls and baby boys together so you can ogle all you like.

Evenings are brilliant, daddys home and happy to play for hours, them theres the evening feed, bath time (not too keen on the hair washing bit though), the pretty lights on the nursery ceiling and then daddy reads from one of my baby books. A brilliant end to a brilliant day who wants to work!

Tips on How to Bathe a Newborn Baby

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:01 AM

By Connie Limon

Bathing a newborn baby should come as motherly instinct, is this right? No, not exactly. In reality bathing a slippery newborn baby can be one of the most nerve-racking experiences a new mother can have. This is not at all abnormal. The knowledge of how to bath a newborn baby is not part of motherly instinct. Following a few basic steps can help ease the tension a bit.

If you don't bath your newborn everyday, this means you are a "bad" mother, is this correct? You do not need to bath your baby every single day. In fact, bathing your baby more than several times a week can even dry out the delicate skin of a newborn baby. Clean diapers, fresh burp cloths, and baby wipes to the rescue quickly already cleans up the parts of baby that needs the most attention. The face, neck and diaper area requires the most attention.

The best option at first is actually a sponge bath. A sponge bath is good to use at least until the area around the umbilical cord heals.

For baby's bath be prepared with the following items:

A warm place with a flat surface

A soft blanket, towel or changing pad

 A free hand

A sink or shallow plastic basin to hold the water

A washcloth, an extra towel, cotton balls, mild baby shampoo, wipes, a clean diaper and a change of clothes.

Steps to giving your baby a sponge bath:

1. Keep baby warm during a sponge bath. Expose only the parts you are washing.

2. Lay baby on his or her back on the towel or pad

3. Wet washcloth, wring out excess water and wipe baby's face, no need for soap. You can use a formula especially for babies (helps to give baby a nice clean smell after the bath).

4. Use a damp cotton ball or clean cotton cloth to wipe each eyelid, from inside to outside corners.

5. Pay special attention to creases under arms, behind ears, around neck and in diaper area.

6. Wash between baby's fingers and toes

You should wash your newborn's hair if it seems dirty or your baby develops cradle cap. Cradle cap is a common condition characterized by scaly patches on the scalp.

Steps to washing baby's hair:

1. Support baby's head and shoulders with your free hand

2. Gently massage a drop of mild baby shampoo into his or her scalp.

3. Rinse the shampoo with a damp washcloth.

4. For cradle cap, loosen the scales with a small, soft-bristled brush before rinsing off the shampoo.

When you progress to a tub bath for your baby, you need only a few inches of warm water. It is probably a good idea to lather your baby on a towel at first and use the tub only for rinsing. Warm water is best. You can set your water heater to below 120 F to prevent scalding. Also, always check the temperature of the water with your hand before you begin baby's bath. Room temperature should be about 75 F.

Steps to washing baby in the tub:

1. Support your baby's head and torso with your arm and hand to wash the front of baby's body.

2. Hold baby securely to help him or her feel comfortable, and to stay safe while in the tub.

3. With one arm and hand support your baby's head and torso. Wrap your arm under baby's back, grasping baby firmly under the armpit.

4. Lean baby forward on your arm to clean baby's back and buttocks while continuing to grasps baby under the armpit.

It is probably best to start with baby's face and move onto dirtier parts of the body. Wash inside skin folds and rinse genitals carefully. Save washing the hair for last to help baby preserve body heat.

Plain water is fine for newborns. You can use a mild, unscented soap with moisturizer especially formulated for babies if needed. Avoid using bubble baths on newborns and young babies.

It is not recommended to use lotion after a bath for most newborns. Greasy lotions or ointments may cause skin irritation or block baby's tiny sweat glands. Carefully dry inside baby's folds of skin after each bath to prevent rash and skin irritation.

Time for baby's bath is your choice. Some babies may be more alert and ready to enjoy the experience in the morning, while others may prefer a bath at night as a calming bedtime ritual. It is important to choose a time when you will not be rushed or interrupted.

Breastfeeding - Tips And Tricks For A Happier Experience

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 2:55 AM

By Nathalie Fiset

Breastfeeding is highly recommended for all newborns. Breast milk is the best nutrient for the baby. Its composition is ideal for the growing needs and brain development of a newborn baby.

When breastfeeding, a new mother can greatly benefit from getting all the necessary information through reading books and pamphlets. She will also get invaluable information by joining a support group on breastfeeding in her local community.

Breastfeeding can be greatly eased by the loving support of a spouse. Although the spouse cannot nurse the baby, there are hundreds of other daily tasks he can take over to relieve the breastfeeding mother. A supporting spouse will help by doing such things as preparing meals, changing the babys diaper, giving the baby its bath and allowing the nursing mother to enjoy a well deserved nap during the day.

In the case of a nursing mother who needs to go out, the simplest way is to bring her baby along and breastfeed on demand. Sometimes, the baby cannot be brought along and new parents are faced with a dilemma. What should they feed their baby? Who is going to babysit?

The best is to find a relative who is experienced in taking care of a young baby. This would easily resolve the anxiety by knowing that the baby is in good hands. Being able to call and leaving a phone number in case of emergencies to ensure that the baby is doing fine will also re-assure the new parents.

The last question is what to feed the baby while the nursing mother is away? The obvious answer to this question is: breast milk of course. Hence, a nursing mother can easily extract her milk between feedings and store it for future use like when she goes out.

A general rule for conserving breast milk is that it can be stored at normal room temperature for 4 hours (at 25 degrees Celsius) or one hour if thawed.

Breast milk can also be kept for longer periods in cases of a person who has abundant quantities. It can be stored in the refrigerators freezer for up to 3 to 4 months in the case of a quality refrigerator. It is important to mark the date with a black marker on the container to ensure the milk has not expired.

Breast milk can also be kept in the regular refrigerator for 3 to 5 days at 4 degrees Celsius, if thawed it can only be kept for 24 hours. A very important fact to know is that since it has not been pasteurized, the cream of the milk will separate from the liquid part of it, giving the milk an unusual appearance (not unlike milk that would have soured. One has to simply shake the bottle and the milk will be as good as new.

In the case of people who own a chest freezer, breast milk can be stored for as long as 6 months. Again, it is important to mark the dates it was first stored.

Often, new parents may feel like their entire freezer is filled with frozen breast milk and that baby will never drink all this quantity. They will be amazed to realize that when they come back from their first romantic week-end away from baby, the little one will have gone through most of the breast milk reserve.

Diaper Bag Basics

Never leave home without a well stocked diaper bag! I learned this lesson the hard way during the first week of my son's life. Since I had just fed my son, I assumed we could make the short trip to the store without bringing a bottle. We had to cut our trip short to return home in order to feed the little guy! Even the shortest trip to run an errand can be excruciatingly long without proper supplies for your baby!

Baby diaper bags come in a variety of styles and colors. Traditional options look very much like a diaper bag. They come in child friendly patterns and have many obvious pouches. Many designers are creating more stylish options that look more like handbags. Whether you choose a traditional style or a more trendy style, make sure you select a bag that your spouse will be willing to carry. While you may find a funky pink bag very attractive, your husband may be reluctant to tote it over his shoulder!

Once you have selected your baby diaper bag, you must fill it! So what is important to carry along with you at all times? Some items are very obvious and some can easily slip your mind. Beyond the basics, you will find what you personally like to have on hand at all times. You are bound to run into situations where you are not armed with needed supplies.

During my son's first pictures, he had a very messy diaper. It was a 4 wipe mess. Unfortunately, we only had 1 wipe left in the diaper bag! With a baby, you will find that you make due with what you have. However, if you are prepared, outings will be much less stressful. The two obvious items that you will want to have on hand at all times are diapers and baby wipes. If you are wondering how many you should pack, refer to the story in the previous paragraph. You want plenty of both items! You never know when your baby may have an explosion in her diaper so be prepared! You will also want at least one extra outfit for baby. I have had to call on the extra outfit several times when leaky diapers occurred.

It is also a good idea to have diaper rash ointment and baby lotion in your bag. The other big item you will want to have on hand is food for your baby. Many times we are gone longer than we intended which means we are not at home for my son's normal meal time. We always carry a few jars of baby food, as well as spoons, in his baby diaper bag just to be prepared. Other items you may consider are cotton swabs, disposable wash cloths, plastic bags to hold dirty diapers, pacifiers, bandages, first aid ointment, and toys. Once your child is born, you will have a better knowledge of important items to keep on hand.

I removed several items from my original load once I felt comfortable with the needs of my son. Once I determined the items to include in my son's bag, another problem I ran into was running out of these items. The main reason was not refilling the supplies after a trip. One way to combat this problem is to immediately refill all supplies when you return home. That way, the bag will be ready for your next outing. It will also save you time if you have to take your baby on an unexpected trip. You may also want to consider purchasing two diaper bags. This will allow you to have a fully stocked back up bag. If you are careful to clean out and restock your bag after each excursion, you should always be well stocked. Whether you select a designer diaper bag or a more traditional style, make sure to fill it with all necessary supplies for your little one. A well stocked bag will make any outing much more enjoyable!

Ideas For A Newborn Baby

One of the hardest decisions for an adult to make is coming up with a good idea for a newborn baby. The concern most people have is deciding what the new mom and dad need for their newborn baby and most people will try to guess what is needed and make a decision based on a guess. This is why in most gift giving sessions there are always a few gifts that are either duplicates or unnecessary. The best way to handle this is to call the gift recipients or in case of a group gift to call the group coordinator and ask what is needed. During the conversation, also find out why each item is needed. The reason this information is needed is to determine which items are needed now for the care of the newborn baby and which items can be classified as nice to have but not needed now.

The gift ideas for newborn babies should first be considered from the items that are needed now list. The nice to have list is just that, a list of items nice to have, but not needed for the current care of the newborn baby. These are some of items that would be on a newborn baby need now list.

 bedding

 sleep sacks

 cribs

 bassinets

 baby bath tub

 towels

 wash cloths

 newborn clothing

 neck support pillows

 bottles

 bottle warmers

 intercom

When buying a gift the first thing that must be considered is the quality. It does not do the newborn baby any good if the quality is poor. Poor quality is such items as hard scratchy materials or construction subject to easy failure. A well known brand is one way of being certain of quality. If a brand does not have quality, the brand usually does not stay in existence very long.

Another aspect of buying a gift for a newborn baby is the price. If a person wants to save money, compare brands with similar good quality material and construction. Usually you will find at least one brand that is less expensive due to a sale or several other valid reasons. Also compare number of units per price. Sometimes for various reasons you can buy multiple units or the package contains multiple units which in total are less expensive than the same number of single items in total.

In conclusion when shopping for ideas for newborn babies, always think of the comfort, care, and well being of the newborn baby first. Then think of quality, brand, and cost that will satisfy these needs. What you buy for the newborn baby can and should be of long time service to the newborn baby. By observing these few points the newborn baby will thank you with a lot of giggles and hugs.
