To run baby a warm bath and put backing soda in the water. Let the baking soda dissolve and let baby soak it the water for about 15 minutes. When you get baby out of the bath let him go without a diaper for about 10-15 minutes to allow the area to dry. Then apply Flanders Ointment and put babies diaper on. I usually do this at night right before my son went to bed and when he wakes up the diaper rash is gone.

Diaper rash is what happens when a baby's sensitive skin is kept in contact with urine-or fecal-soaked diapers for any length of time. The moisture breaks down the skin's natural protective oils, and a red, irritated, bumpy rash appears. The makeup of the diaper is irrelevant: Doctors say diaper rash can happen whether your baby wears cloth or disposable diapers.

The best thing is to prevent your little one from getting this in the first place, but even at our best attempts she will probably at least have one or two in her first year of life. Your goal as a mom will probably be to minimize the chances the best you can. Again, since babies have different skin types, you should probably find a diaper that is friendly to her skin as well as leaks. After this step, you will want to keep her as dry as possible and this does not mean checking to see if she is โwetโ every 10 minutes. This means if you use baby wipes at every change, to pat her dry with a cotton towel or let her air dry before closing the diaper.

Giving your baby a warm water bath is the first step in easing their discomfort. Adding some oatmeal to the water is a great tip. Just pour a cupful into the running water and let your baby bathe as usual.Next dry the bottom very carefully; a harsh towel will just cause more pain and irritation. A blow-dryer on the lowest/cool setting works wonders. Keep the dryer moving constantly until the area is completely dry.

Diapers are used to cover the genitals and they invariably protect the area where the infection has a breeding ground therefore the diapers should be changed intermittently as often possible depending on the childโs toilet training and routine. Wet diapers are a strict no-no and once the area gets wet because of the childโs routine, then the area should be air-dried and if possible pat-dried. Care should be taken that the sweat pool does not form and accumulates under the diaper. If some medicine taken is found to show this allergic reaction steps should be taken to stop the medicine completely. Coconut oil is the best home ready source that could be used on the babyโs skin around the buttocks and it would destroy the budding rash efficiently.

Use a decoction of white oak bark, which has anti-fungal properties. You take 4 tablespoons of white oak bark (the actual bark, which you buy from a herbalist). Simmer it for 20 minutes in one quart of water, then strain. Return the liquid to the pot and simmer it until it has reduced its volume by about half. Store it in the fridge for 2-3 days, and apply to the baby's bottom (or your nipples, if you get thrush) frequently.
